What is Trademark?

A trademark is a visual symbol, which may be a word, name, device, label or numerals used by a business to differentiate itself from other business.  Trademarks are registered under Trademarks Act, 1999. Trademarks gives distinguish identity to the business apart from its competitor. Once a trademark registration process is done, the R symbol can be applied and the registration will become valid for 10 years. Registered trademarks nearing expiry can regularly renew the registration process by filing a trademark renewal application for a time of another 10 years.
